The Main Building
Welcome to the National Central Library! We are located on Chungshan South Road, right across from the “National Theater & Concert Hall.” In contrast to the Theater & Concert Hall’s imperial style of architecture, our building is in a modernist style. The award-winning architecture is a concrete-frame structure, and it comprises 6 floors above ground and 2 floors underground. Though this current location was opened to the public on September 28th, 1986, the Library’s history actually goes back to 1933, when it was first established in Nanjing, China.
